The future of millions of girls and women is at risk. This is your opportunity to take a stand
Girls and women worldwide have a fundamental human right to decide about their bodies. That means women can decide freely and for themselves whether, when and how many children they have.
Girls and women will not stop having abortions when they need them. When they can’t have access to safe abortion care, they will revert to unsafe abortions, which can cause irreparable damage and death. This is your opportunity to take a stand and donate right now!
These private fundraising accounts are managed by Rutgers, an internationally operating NGO on sexual and reproductive health and rights, based in the Netherlands.
With your support Rutgers can
- Keep health clinics open in communities
- Provide a full range of sexual and reproductive health services to people who need it
- Advocate for law reforms to stop unsafe abortions
All funds will be distributed to organisations affected by the Global Gag Rule. In 2017, private individuals donated 500,000 euro to SheDecides. On 24 January 2018, exactly a year after SheDecides was founded by former minister Lilianne Ploumen, Rutgers has awarded the public donations to the Reproductive Health Network Kenya (RHNK). They work towards reducing maternal mortality and morbidity caused by unsafe abortion. Thanks to the contribution, the organization can help 25,000 girls and women annually. The organization will be supported for a period of two years, with annual funding of 250,000 euro.
